Swami Vivekananda Life History

Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863, in the famous Dutta family of Shimla village in north Kolkata. His father’s name was Vishwanath Dutta, a lawyer of the Calcutta High Court. And his mother’s name was Bhubaneswar Devi, who was an ordinary housewife.

Swami Vivekananda was in 1871 first admitted to the Metropolitan Institution established by Ishtar Chandra Vijayanagar and studied there until he and his family relocated to Jaipur in Chhattisgarh.1897 After coming back from Jaipur and then, he pass the first division in the entrance examination and admitted to the Presidency College, Kolkata. He passed the first section of all the college exams that year and made a mark as the only student.

After completing his studies from the Presidency, he joined another well-established college Scottish Church in Kolkata. Here he studied Western logic, Western philosophy and European history, and was able to graduate in 1884. In studying in college, he also read many other books He has a keen interest in religion, philosophy, history, art, sociology and literature. He also read Vedas, Upanishads, Ramayana and Mahabharata at an early age. Even in the midst of such studies, he never forgot to exercise his body Every day he remembers spending time in exercise, yoga and sports.
